Alisha Jain for Undergraduate Senate
No Jain No Gain

Hi everyone! My name is Alisha Jain, a sophomore studying Political Science, and I’m running to serve in the ASSU Undergraduate Senate.

One thing I’ve realized during my time at Stanford is that a lot of the student experience comes down to small everyday things. It’s whether you can find a good place to study during week 10, whether student organizations can actually get the funding and support they need to host events, and whether students know how decisions affecting campus life are being made.

Student government should help improve those experiences, but for many students it still feels distant or unclear. I’m running because I want to help make the Senate more connected to the students it represents.

What I care about

  • Supporting student organizations
    • Student organizations are one of the best parts of Stanford. From cultural groups to athletic clubs to creative organizations, student groups are what makes campus feel alive. I want to make sure organizations have the support they need to host events and bring people together.

  • Improving everyday campus spaces
    • Small things can make a big difference in daily campus life. Finding study space during busy weeks, or making sure students know about campus resources, or even improving communication around opportunities and events, I want to help make Stanford work better for students.

  • Making student government easier to understand
    • A lot of what makes Stanford special comes from the traditions and events that bring people together. For me that's memories of the Band Run during NSO, running into friends at Midnight Breakfast, or the hundreds of events student organizations host throughout the year that turn campus into a real community.

Yet, many students still don’t know what the Senate actually does or how to bring forward ideas or concerns. I want to help make student government more visible and approachable by sharing clearer updates about Senate decisions, funding opportunities, and ways students can get involved.

The campus community is what makes Stanford special and I’d love the opportunity to represent students and help make campus even better.

I’m always happy to hear ideas, feedback, or questions.
