My name is Andy Serrato, and I’m running for Undergraduate Senate in the Associated Students of Stanford University.
Stanford is full of brilliant ideas and creative people, but the culture of a campus is shaped by the traditions and experiences that bring students together.
As a Design student involved in Stanford’s creative community, I want to help foster a campus culture that celebrates creativity, community, and traditions that make college unforgettable.
🎉 STRENGTHENING STANFORD TRADITIONS
Some of the most memorable college moments come from traditions that bring the entire campus together. Stanford has iconic traditions, but many students feel some of them have lost momentum over time.
Work with student leaders and campus partners to revitalize well-known traditions such as Full Moon on the Quad and other large campus celebrations
Advocate for stronger ASSU logistical support and funding to help student organizations host larger, more engaging campus traditions
Encourage the development of new student-led traditions (such as seasonal festivals or campus celebrations) that can grow into lasting Stanford experiences
Help ensure these traditions are accessible and welcoming to students across dorms, majors, and communities, so more students feel included in campus culture
🎨 CELEBRATING STUDENT CREATIVITY
Stanford students are constantly creating incredible work across music, design, art, performance, film, and media. These creative communities deserve more opportunities to share their work with the broader campus.
Support more campus-wide creative showcases and festivals where students can present their work, from music and performance to fashion, film, and visual art
Increase ASSU support and funding for interdisciplinary events that bring together artists, designers, performers, and creators across different student organizations
Help expand accessible platforms for student creators, such as exhibitions, pop-up galleries, performances, and campus showcases
Work to ensure student creative work receives greater visibility across campus, helping connect creators with new audiences and collaborators
🤝 BUILDING A MORE VIBRANT CAMPUS
Stanford should feel alive not just during big traditions or performances, but in everyday student life.
Improve how students discover events happening across campus by supporting clearer, centralized ways to find student activities, performances, and gatherings
Encourage collaborations between different dorms, cultural centers, and student organizations to host larger shared social events open to the broader campus community
Support more accessible weekend and late-evening social programming, when many students are looking for ways to unwind and spend time with friends
Advocate for more open and welcoming social spaces on campus where students can gather, relax, and meet people outside their usual circles
Stanford deserves a campus culture that is creative, connected, and full of unforgettable traditions.
If you believe in this vision, I would be grateful for the chance to represent our community.
