Hi everyone! I’m Niah Maduakolam, and I’m running for Undergraduate Senate because I believe Stanford should work better for the students who live, learn, and grow here every day.
As the Frosh Council Representative for Ujamaa, I’ve had the opportunity to listen closely to my peers and advocate for the issues that matter most to them. That experience has shown me how important it is to amplify student voices in the Senate, and I want to continue doing so. Stanford offers incredible opportunities, but too often those opportunities feel difficult to access unless you already know how the system works. I want to help make campus more accessible, more connected, and more student-centered.
As your senator, I will listen to student concerns and advocate for practical changes that improve everyday life on campus.
What Will I Work For?
 🚆 Breaking the Stanford BubbleÂ
Stanford can feel isolating, especially if you don’t have a car. I will explore ways to expand transit access, including student BART or regional transit passes, and create more opportunities for students to explore the Bay Area and connect with the surrounding community.
 📚 Accessible Opportunities
Research and academic opportunities shouldn’t depend on insider knowledge. I will push for clearer pathways into research—especially in the humanities and social sciences—and better support for students who feel like they arrived at Stanford “behind.”
 💪 A Stronger Campus Community
Stanford should be ambitious without feeling elitist. I want to encourage a campus culture where students support each other, inappropriate behavior is taken seriously, and everyone feels like they belong.

🔍 Making Resources Easier to Find
Stanford has amazing resources—but they’re often buried in emails, Fizz posts, and scattered websites. I will advocate for clearer communication and easier ways for students to find opportunities, internships, funding, and campus resources.
🍽️ Better Dining Options at Night
If you’re hungry late at night, your options are basically Late Night or Axe & Palm—that's not always enough. I will advocate for dining dollars at more Tresidder dining locations, expanded late-night dining options that include self-serve stations so students can access food without requiring additional staffing, and healthier food choices at late-night locations. Students shouldn’t have to choose between being hungry and eating unhealthy food.

🚲 Bike Security
Bikes are one of the most important ways students get around campus, but bike theft is still a real issue. I want to work with the university to explore better bike security solutions, more secure bike parking areas, and stronger theft-prevention measures so students can feel confident that their transportation is safe.

I care deeply about making Stanford a place where students feel supported, informed, and empowered to succeed. It would be an honor to represent you.
