What’s up everyone, Thomas Ravel (like the composer) here! I’m running to be your strongest advocate in the Undergraduate Senate. In short, I’m all about giving YOU better food, money, fun, and representation. Check out a few of my ideas below.
I have experience in student government, whether it be from holding leadership positions in Boys State and Scouting America, or from acting as president for the Youth Council of my city district back home in Paris, France. I’m also familiar with the ASSU by being a current Senate Associate. I now want to take that experience and track record to serve Stanford’s undergraduate students - you !
Here are my objectives:

Dining Hours:
- Extend dining hours, notably for breakfast which ends too early for most students to be able to benefit from it.
- Reopen Casper on weekends
- Expand use of Dining Dollars

Funding Reform and Transparency:
- Make the amounts of funding that clubs receive public/more easily accessible,
- Put into action the recent Club Sports funding reform,
- Allow for closer coordination with Stanford Students Enterprise (SSE) to meet the ASSU’s financial needs,
- Continue dialogue about the quarterly student activity fee and its amount relative to the graduate student activity fee and consider room for reform or adjustment

Club Selectivity Reform:
- Make the data about the acceptance rates, admissions criteria, and selection as to how final candidates were chosen for clubs publicly available to increase transparency and limit favoritism
- Create a new broad student body forum to discuss potential reforms or regulations on selective clubs and their processes

Wellness and Student Life:
- Build multi-use pickup soccer and basketball courts
- Make sure that every dorm has sports equipment essentials like spikeball equipment, soccer balls, basketballs, wiffle balls, yoga mats, etc…

ASSU Reform:
- Have at least two town halls per quarter
- Initiate dialogue about potentially expanding the number of senators, or create the ability for there to be non-senator votes on bills
This is just the beginning but most importantly, I’ll be here to advocate for YOU and YOUR ideas !
