Hi friends! I’m Anjali Verma, a first-year studying Public Policy, a resident of Otero, and originally from rural Pennsylvania.
Serving as Class of 2029 Co-President has given me the opportunity to hear what students care about most, from everyday campus experiences to the bigger issues shaping our community.
We are not only the future, but the right now.
I want to help bridge the divide between students and administrators so Stanford operates as a community that listens to its students, not just an institution that makes decisions for them. YOUR voices should guide Stanford, ASSU, and the administration. As your senator, I will prioritize collaboration with students, student organizations, and campus partners to create initiatives that strengthen our campus and support student well-being.
Focus Areas:
School Safety: So many buildings on campus are easily accessible, allowing anyone to walk into classroom spaces. I will advocate for clear, transparent communication so that students feel informed, prepared, and supported in the event of a potential safety threat. I want to ensure that resources and safety updates are accessible and easy for students to understand. KEEP STANFORD SAFE.
Mental Health: Mental health is incredibly close to my heart. I am currently training to be a peer counselor at The Bridge and work with several youth mental health nonprofits. Stanford lacks strong advocacy in the mental health space, and we need to be more proactive by promoting awareness, reducing stigma, and expanding accessible mental health resources and peer-led wellness initiatives. ELIMINATE DUCK SYNDROME.
Accessibility: I will work to make campus events, spaces, and opportunities more inclusive so every student can fully participate in Stanford life. FIX THE DISGO GOLF CART SERVICE so students with mobility impairments are guaranteed reliable rides across campus.
Class Spirit and Community: I represented Stanford at this year’s ACC Student Leadership Conference alongside students from 18 schools. WE HAVE OLYMPIANS. Stanford school spirit should match the incredible talent on this campus. I will advocate for increased support and funding for community-building initiatives that bring students together and strengthen campus pride.
I care deeply about creating a campus culture where students feel supported, connected, and empowered to share their ideas. As your senator, I will work to genuinely amplify diverse student voices, celebrate our achievements, and advocate for the changes that matter most to our community.
